The department is a recognized research centre under VTU and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in computer sciences. The programmes aims to provide students with a strong foundation in Computer Science and enable them to integrate their knowledge with other disciplines for carrying out innovative discoveries.
Duration – 4 years
Eligibility
A pass in 2nd PUC/ 12th Grade/Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Electronics/Computers (40% for reserved category candidates). Candidates must also have taken up the CET/COMED-K/JEE entrance tests and possess valid ranks/scores.
Students having completed three-year diploma programmes, with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC) are eligible for lateral entry into the second year (3rd semester), and having taken up the DCET entrance tests with valid scores/ranks.
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was established in the year 2021. This programme emphasizes on lifelong learning and applying knowledge on solving real world problems. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning focuses on collecting, categorizing, strategizing, analyzing and interpretation of data. It is a specialised branch that deals with the development of embedded systems like robotics and IoT based applications. It also incorporates the concepts of machine learning and deep learning model building for solving various computational and real world business problems.

The Department of Information Science & Engineering was established in the year 2000, offers an undergraduate programme where students learn core computer aspects such as software, networking, programming, operating systems, web development, and database management. One of the oldest and classical engineering branches, Civil engineering offers students enhanced knowledge about aspects concerning the real-world such as physical structures. Students get hands-on exposure on the various nuances, concerning the physical structures, such as highways, flyovers, buildings, dams, bridges, and more. A pass in any degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks. (45% for SC/ST) having studied one amongst Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at 10+2 level or Graduation. Students must have also taken either the PGCET or K-MAT entrance exams.
The MBA programme was started in the year 2002. The Department of Management Studies & Research Centre offers a rigorous and intensive Master’s degree in Business Administration aided by an eclectic mix of academic and industry professionals MBA at CMRIT offers dual specialization in the following areas.
