On 17th June 2018, CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) celebrated its 15th Graduation Day. As part of the ceremony, around 1019 undergraduate engineering and 196 postgraduate students participated in the procession. Dr. Sanjay Jain, Principal of CMRIT, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the achievements of the students. The oath to the graduands was administered by Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Chancellor of CMR University and President of CMR Jnanadhara Trust (CMRJT). The others present for the occasion included Trustees of CMR Jnanadhara Trust, industrialists, and academicians.
Addressing the students, Padma Vibhushan Dr. V.K. Aatre, chief guest of the programme and Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister said, “Today’s budding engineers are the future of this country. They must build a vibrant nation through innovations in Science and technology.
“Technology can be used to install better facilities, transparent administration and to create wealth for the country. Global challenges which need immediate attention are related to energy and water security,” he added.
Further, Dr. Aatre, who is a Former Director General of DRDO, said that creativity plays a major role in engineering a revolution. According to him, Life offers challenges and opportunity accompanies it.
On the occasion, university rank holders, winners of the best projects, student council members, and those who had demonstrated exemplary leadership were felicitated. An atmosphere of pride, happiness and excitement prevailed which was only punctuated with rounds of applause, as students went on stage to collect their awards and certificates.
